In our campaign to abolish what is so clearly unfair we should join with those that are already fighting for “no toll” at the Swinford Bridge. While takeover by the State or County would be greatly preferable, the alternative would be that one or other (or both) of them (State or County) pay annually agreed sums to the bridge-owners, recovering the amounts needed from an appropriate increase in road licence fees and general rates and taxes.
